I think I’ll just walk away from this one.
None of those situations warranted the police destroying this home. Period. It is abuse of power. They should be make the homeowner whole.
There are standoffs with suspects all of the time that do not result in homes being destroyed. The police had other options, they chose not to employ them.
Do not buy this garbage being sold by the police this time. They all should be fired.
“They should be make the homeowner whole.”
The insurance company made him whole. He wants the government to pay for his new luxury home that replaces his 1974 dated house.
They needed to test out their armored RV and their robot.
Incorrect response. As a result of the insurance company paying for THEIR abuse of power and destruction of his property, all of their customers paid the price.
The police and city insurance should have bore this cost.
Incorrect response. The city doesn’t pay. The citizens pay.
Maybe if it started hurting their pensions and PD budget they’d actually act professional.
You know, like the other swat teams that didn’t destroy property and thumb their noses at the peasantry.
Yes, I remember IB4TG.
Good times!
And it looks like someone got a bit of butthurt over this post, reading through it seems to have mightily agitated someone.
A little overkill, perhaps?
No, cities have insurance plans. Cities have risk management plans. Make them pay, not the poor citizen and other private insurance holders who did nothing wrong except be decent, hardworking Americans following their dreams.
The city, through their PD, abused their power. They need to make this right.
“No, cities have insurance plans”
Dude, the citizens pay for those plans!
Precisely the point. The government and their representatives caused this damage, WILLFULLY.
They need to be held to account.
And the voters in that district have control of the purse strings, they have voting power, and they have petitioning power.
But when you pawn this off on the innocent homeowner and the innocent insurance company, there is no repercussion to the actual criminals in this case; the police department.
Lucky the ATF and FBI didn’t get involved they may have burned the entire neighborhood down!
Good question. The answer, however, is that you are not supposed to trust them. You're supposed to fear them. Sadly.
