Certainly wouldn’t take investment advice from forum opinions here, do your own research. If not then blame yourself for your losses.

Schwab is now offering zero-commission trades.
^^^ Best info on this thread yet ^^

Yes there are some ETFs that pay dividends and you pay taxes on just the small dividend part of those. And if that bothers you, you can try BRK which pays no dividends. It just adds the dividends to its value. So you can get the dividend and not pay taxes until you sell it. Or until Warren changes his mind about dividends. And by the way, you pay dividends on mutual fund dividends as well

WTF is an ETF?? If you’re gonna use an acronym....DEFINE IT. The definition should happen with THE FIRST USE OF THE ACRONYM in the piece of writing (and yes, damn it, I’m shouting).

The meaning of the word ETF is right there in the first few sentences of the first paragraph of the article.

Not good enough. It should be in the excerpt as well.

I'm not saying you don't pay taxes on dividends from mutual funds; I was merely pointing out that ETFs also pay dividends, and investors have to pay taxes on them. That's not what you said in your original post.
