“Despite the alleged rape, Nevils said she had more sexual encounters with Lauer when they returned to New York”
So, you are drunk run into a coworker who is also drunk, you go back to his room and have sex, and he during this time does something you claim is rape, and you keep getting together to have more sex?
Seems like a damn loose definition of rape to me.
Anyone remember how Matt Lauer and NBC treated the victims of this fraudulent rape allegation?

Does Lacrosse Cause Violence? NBCs Today Investigates Aggressive
By Scott Whitlock

Does lacrosse lead to rape? NBCs Today show seriously investigated that question in the April 21 edition. Matt Lauer teased the story with this scintillating query:
Lauer: “And still to come, the Duke lacrosse rape case. Is there something about the sport of lacrosse that causes players to act out of bounds?”
Natalie Morales furthered this line of thinking when she introduced the segment at 7:32AM EDT:
Morales: “But first, Matt, the investigation into the alleged rape by some members of the Duke lacrosse team. It’s not the first time the players there have been in trouble and it has some wondering whether this aggressive sport leads to aggressive behavior.”

Regardless of the debate about consent and power dynamics, all I can think about is what a condescending, smug, arrogant jerk Lauer was on the Today Show, and how he constantly acted like he was one of our moral betters.
I never saw what NBC saw in Lauer. He always was a smug, arrogant, condescending ass before he got the Today Show gig. As was Bryant Gumbel before him. Tom Brokaw was the last Today Show host worth a darn.
