The real scam is getting married without any desire for kids.

If a couple really does want to “go that route” they have no business being a couple.

"... This wife wanted to remain fully fertile while ensuring her husband could neither impregnate her nor anyone else. That is not commitment. And there is no trust in this arrangement, only manipulation."

Not to be harsh, but I disagree. A vasectomy is much simpler and more safe than sterilizing a woman. Now there are risks, but a vasectomy has less chances of complications. Additionally, having a husband have a vasectomy means he can fool around and not worry about a pregnant girlfriend.

My wife had breast cancer, so she wanted to remove as many variables for future medical issues. We did not want anymore children, so I got a vasectomy. It was on an outpatient matter and within two weeks it was just a memory.

When one of my wife's friends found out I had a vasectomy, she told my wife that she would not let her husband have one, because she wanted to increase "the risk" to her husband to mess around. My wife told her friend that I slept every night and there were plenty of knives and guns to increase "the risk."

My background includes study in both biology and theology. This has been a concern of mine since the 1980s.

It has long been known that a human female instinctively and biochemically is attracted to men who are not closely related genetically. The Pill reverses that natural barrier to a significant extent. Instead of being attracted to someone very different from a father or brother, she is more apt to be attracted to such a one.

(Smell and taste - especially from kissing - inform the female via pheromones and other genetic markers of the genetic suitability of a male. It really is in the Kiss.)

Since then, I have learned that it also tends to induce a permanent B-6 deficiency. B-6 is necessary for protein syntheis. By impairing that function, a female is prone to less lean mass and more body fat. Since B-6 is so vital for numerous functions, it has other physiological, and possibly psychological, consequences.

I have seen both of these effects in Youth Ministry (from young women who were put on The Pill, ostensibly for menses regulation, but really because the mother feared the daughter causing a scandal due to illegitimate pregnancy):

Changes in personality and physiology ensued: dramatic reversal of the kinds of males to whom the young woman was attracted, and irreversible weight gain of her formerly svelte female body. They took place in a fairly rapid timeframe. Also, some of these females lost a more feminine and pleasant persona, and became more aggressive and unpleasant (and were then often described by longterm associates with a common word applying to female canines).

Whether one believes in Creation or Evolution (and the latter is a belief, not a replicable, observable fact), the truth is that Nature cannot be violated without tangible, and possibly serious, consequences.

Drugs are artificial (not merely synthetic, which may be bio-identical), and thus unnatural, substances that compromise the natural body’s ability to control and protect itself.

This is all without considering that The Pill ushered in the so-called Sexual Revolution: unbridled, self-centered promiscuity, separating sexual activity from sexual reproduction - separating power from responsibility.

You’ve come a long way, Baby. Now you’re as bad as the men who just use women and throw them away. You use and throw away men - and real babies while you’re at it.

Duh. Hormones control our moods and a lot more. Phony hormones are cheap substitutes.

Maybe they will find a way to make bc more natural.

Both surgical sterilizations can have radical side effects. Especially the Fallopian tube blocking. But even men can have negative sequalae from sterilization. Yes, people are free to choose them, but they are not 100% without side effects, some serious.

what bullshit...truth is that vasectomy is a lot less invasive and cheaper to do. who cares how they decide to stop having children. if they are a couple having monogamous sex then its effective. The only way that both need to be fixed is if someone is cheating.
