I really liked the original “Lost In Space”. It started as a serious show then almost immediately went camp. It was hokey but fun hokey.
The movie was absolutely awful. The only good thing was a cute little girl who grew up to be a hot big girl.
Hollywood would ruin Ringworld
Grace Park is on that insipid ABC show, “A Million Little Things”, now. Really bad soap opera, and I love soap opera.
The story’s kind of bland. It’s about this guy named Dumbledore Calrissian.
You missed out, it was surprisingly good, well acted. It was more of a drama than anything, wish it had more action but the story line was solid and the acting was great.
I loved the ending? Made perfect sense.
I am sure they would.
The SciFi channel did a very poor one episode version.
Still one can dream that someone will do it right!
Independent producer do it for Netflix or HBO or something similar.
As a fan of BG in childhood, I tried to watch the first episode of the remake. It was not my BG and never watched it again.
I am sorry that was River World!
Not Ring World
But River World would also be a good one!
You mean a re-reboot? Why not just show reruns all year round?
Space :1999 but fix the plot and science problems.
Keep the Eagles.
What else ? They keep doing that with superhero movies.
Of course, the reboot that took the cake was the “Flash Gordon” one some time ago. They had a white guy playing a very Caucasian Ming the Merciless with nary the makeup required. A clean-shaven, blonde dude with a full head of hair who looked like Bruce Boxleitner (John Ralston). He could’ve been playing Flash Gordon. I saw that crap and went, “WTF ?!?” and never turned it on again (that might’ve exceeded my same reaction to Pat Benatar Cucumberpatch as Madeleine Kahn Sing (sic)).
PC destroys everything.
Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica.
I loved the ending of the BSG reboot. I often think people expect answers to life, the universe, and everything in TV shows anymore.
Yeah, without a doubt. Now that the CGI is where it needs to be for such a film, the bottom has fallen out of the acting talent pool. Also, the original book would be a lot to stuff into a single feature film. Too much would be cut out.
Lately, I've been of the opinion that Niven should recognize that increasingly, serious sci-fi is coming out of the anime genre. Get some of the talent behind Cowboy Bebop or Ghost in the Shell involved and Ringworld would be a huge success.
Yeah, yeah. I know.
Do yourself a favor and never, I mean NEVER, watch the Lost in Space reboot on Netflix. No shower will cleanse you from the stink of that show. It is beyond horrible. You’ve been warned! :-)
On a side note, the theme songs of Lost in Space are some of my all time favorites. The show was a little bit before my time, but is some great sci-fi from the era.
The later version of the TV series V had the potential to go there—but it was canceled after two seasons.
The previews of season 3 were totally mind-blowing—the aliens were about to take over the computer networks...
I want someone to make Season 3!
I’m sure it will be filled with LGBTQRSTUV things.
V was some good stuff.
