In business you of ten meet a guy that is trying to dominate with his handshake. I usually let them get away with it and screw them on the money part of the deal.
People saying this guy isn’t strange obviously didn’t watch the video.
...In any event, it’s not so strange or so terribly interesting.

I thought it petty, childish and pathetic behavior by a small (in both size and character) and failing man.
He said hes only president because he wants to do good things for the country and goes on to briefly give the economic accomplishments. I dont know who the woman was, but he clearly recognized her as one of MSM reporters.
The Donald takes no prisoners, and these fools don’t know how to handle him.
Throughly enjoyed his Obama failed reference on Crimea...... Tell it like it is...
In her case, Id overlook her tat.
The prolonged handshake is one instance of unethical forms of hypnotic techniques used to manipulate people. Macron and Obama both do this. It requires a great deal of skill to use these techniques effectively, and they don’t always work, depending on who the person is they are being used on. But they do work on a large percentage of the population. President Trump is clearly not one of the susceptible ones.
Just so you know I’m not making this up with some silly conjecture:

What is described in the link above is just one of many examples you can find on the subject.
One thing about Macron (besides being Gay/bisexual), is that he is very sophisticated about International economics - really super savvy.
He graduated from École nationale d’administration (ENA - the creme de la creme of France) and was a power player as an investment banker at Rothschild Bank. The man is really sharp, about how things really work with International business and finance - at the top of the game.
He is almost always the smartest and most successful man in the room, anywhere he goes, and has to endlessly deal with lesser minds, deluded and focused on trivialities.
Dealing with someone can play at the same level - or better - is a real treat. Only such a high level player can really appreciate/affirm his talent.
Personally, I think that respect from/engagement by a man like President Trump provides Macron a profound level of affirmation, that is about as good as it gets inter-personally. Only the judgement of history (or his electorate) could be a greater personal validation.
I hope he washed his hands soon after.
I think it works like jumper cables for a low battery. Macron got a jolt of energy when their hands touched, so he hung on, trying to get as much as he could for as long as he could. It was the most macho he’d felt since the previous time he and POTUS had shaken hands.
I noticed that when the leaders were all staging for a group photograph, Macron looked back and gave Trump a quick “come this way” motion with his arm. Trump was already going in that direction.

IMHO, you give this character entirely too much credit. Did the ENA indoctrinate him on the need for the French to, in effect, pay the Jizyah to the Muslims in their midst? Did the ENA teach him the desirability of Muslim immigration? Did the ENA instruct him to marry his far older teacher and not reproduce? Macron was being an immature jerk with Trump. Hes fortunate Trump had the class and maturity to not deck him right then and there.
Mark Levin, tonight, said Macron was acting bizarre at the G7. There he said it.
I saw that on a news clip. Trump finally used his left hand to hit Macron’s right arm and Macron let go.
It’s little Macron’s attempt to look macho.
He did the same thing with Boris Johnson, it was front page in the UK press for two days.
