Where the tyrannical State — who is there to serve and protect you — will not allow you to protect yourself...for your own good.
Taking your children into the wilderness with no means of fighting of predators is not protecting your children. A couple of cans of bear spray should have been a minimum. A magnum revolver or 9mm with 147 cast core Buffalo Bore would have been much more protective.
They were stupid and very fortunate someone heard their screams.Otherwise, it is very likely the woman and her two children would have had to watch the wolf eating the husband/father after he bled to unconsciousness.
