Today 16.27 miles:
I wanted to go to the lake but was told to be home by noon.
I know, bummer.
So I thought it was early enough to hit the forest trails.
But as soon as I entered there was a woman with a stroller and toddler. Then a dog walker. Then a jogger. Then more dog walkers.
So I cut through once and rode around the woods a couple times.

Heading out from home there was a man coming in the opposite direct in the bicycle lane so I gave him plenty of room to pass each other.
I don’t know what happened but when he passed me I hear CLANG-CLANG so I looked in my mirror and saw his bike laying half in the street and he was getting up from his knees. He then look at my direction for a long time (”long time”, this happened in seconds) and I wondered: Is he going to come after me, bro? But then he went his way. If he was laying I would have stopped to help. He was not wearing a helmet. I always without fail wear my helmet. Couple of times I went back up the elevator to get it when I forgot.

This tug look impressively powerful as it passed below:

This picture had me lmao!

For real, when I first saw this coming I was like: What the heck? A huge barge pushed by a tug with tourists sitting on it. Only in Germany!
So I took the picture actually thinking that. But then the ships passed and I saw it was a tourist boat behind the barge - LoL!

No one was at the fountain (which is rare) so I took a picture. The woods plenty of annoying people, the fountain no one!

This electric motorcycle-lookin’ thing is actually an Italian electric bicycle
The Dubai Experience Movie 🎥 with MOTO PARILLA CarbonSUV e-Bike

15 E-Bikes for On-Road and Off-Road 2018-2019

When I first took my new bicycle into the bike shop, one of the guys said he at first thought it was an ebike because of the thick size (they specialize in thin speed bikes). I told him I might have him convert it to an ebike in the future.

Rainy today. Soon I want to scout woods trails outside Berlin (less people). There's got to be some good trails, especially south. Actually I already have a good idea where to go. Also still want to ride to the lake beach. I realized I only been 3 times to the beach and now we are getting into late August I am suddenly desperate.

I bought this Forester cap yesterday (I forgot to bring my phone/camera). It actually has to do with a soccer stadium. But I will pass it on the way to happy trails.

I did 35 yesterday with my two young son in-laws. They are like race horses compared to my 60 year old body but I push hard and keep up.
One overshot a turn and went into the grass then crashed right in front of me trying to get back on the cement. I went flying and hit hard. Thought I broke my shoulder and my bike ( worse!)
Ended up all were okay except some blood and big bruises. I’m sore though.
Today I’m swimming a mile then immediately taking the bike for 20 just to get some soreness out.

Truly impressive. I swim forty strokes. Then another forty and float on my back. Then maybe again.
I been riding a few years and been lucky so far but I don't really do high speed.
Most of my rides are purely leisurely.
I ride a good distance and then stop at a nice place to eat bananas or a sandwich. Lay on the beach/swim, listen to a podcast or read my kindle (next up).
I don't like to be on wet roads if I can avoid it, especially Autumn with the leaves on the ground.
Thanks for the update and glad everyone turned out mostly OK.

Brown gave up driving cars. He rigged a motor to a black-painted, Mohawk bicycle and outfitted the vehicle with speedometers, chrome lights, locks and thick rubber-handle grips.

Small 8.27 mile ride to the dentist on my old 150 euros used bike (Panther, which I love).
Never going to lock my new 1,130 euros bike (Pegasus, which I love) and walk away from it.
Of course I had to go by the graffiti wall (Fritz The Cat got painted over),
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48575389787_c5769ae659_o.jpg
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48575318221_eaaaa69ad9_h.jpg
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48575468607_cec3d74541_h.jpg

I talked to a few of these graffiti artists. I thought maybe they are art students. But no they just seem to really like to spend a lot of money and time to paint graffiti that only lasts a week or a few days before someone else paints over it. I have seen some of the same guys (and a woman) for years now.

There is the rattle of the spray paints, the smell of paints, the hiss sounds of spray paints, the beers, music is often played, food, etc... I just take my few pictures and then pedal on. I got other things to do you know what I mean?

34.07 miles today,
I was scouting trails at the lake when I made a turn onto a dirt road from a steep incline. I saw a sign flash by said private road so I made a made a turn around but in doing so I fell from there being loose dirt.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48586183461_2514e069df_o.jpg
I soon had to remove the mirror because it became loose and I had no tools to tighten it with. Every bump I hit made it shift from place.
In the time that you are falling you think “Must Not Fall, Must Not Fall, Must Not Fall.” But then you realize you are going to fall and your thought becomes “Fall Like This, Fall Like This, Fall Like This.” So I put out my hands and got back up OK without even a scratch because the ground was soft.

I started off passing the graffiti place. This is what the 3 amigos (https://youtu.be/RolAQMtUjMY) were working on in yesterdays photo:
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48586015986_1fba458dbc_h.jpg

BTW I have like 40 photos. No one wants to look at 40 photos.
I’m probably done taking so many photos. It’s a bit of a hassle to stop when riding to take a photo. Unless there is something very interesting.
You people now know my rides. I don’t have to keep picturing them.
I’ll ask Santa for a Go-Pro. That’s what I need.

After the graffiti place I rode through a woods but the path was too well traveled/established to be much fun. Was still beautiful.
(I am skipping some photos. You know what woods are.)

Then I soon came to a woods I never been in that had many bicycle tracks at the entrance. But I just came out of a woods and I also wanted to swim in the lake so I made a mental note and kept going.

Next to those woods is the Forester Stadium, which is the cap I pictured wearing. It’s a soccer stadium for Union Berlin (https://youtu.be/_wsKfROlvsw) who finally qualified to play in the Bundesliga for the first time.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48586137692_db4733eb20_h.jpg

I reached the lake area and started checking for good trails to ride. Here is a good sand trap. Not to deep and not too long. Exactly good enough to have a fun time swerving and powering through.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48586144247_91b4ccc784_h.jpg

I am skipping wood trail photos... Then I locked my bike here (looked safe to do with no one around.) The lake is in the background.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48585998416_9d612b171c_h.jpg

I went down the steps and looked for signs of bicycling. I am not Indian but I think I saw bicycle tracks.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48586000216_4920ae81d2_h.jpg

I saw ducks I did not want to disturb so I went the opposite way. Was glad I did because I met a funny dog.
There was a short sandy path between high bushes leading to a short sandy beach.
This dog came from the beach and dropped a rubber frisbee in front of me.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48586014956_4a25329fae_h.jpg
I said hello and continued to the very small beach.
The dog picked up the frisbee, followed me and dropped it again.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48585995356_d10a6e1011_h.jpg
Then he moved back a bit and waited.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48586133887_c3ebeeaada_h.jpg
I’m not Doctor Dolittle (https://youtu.be/YpBPavEDQCk) but seemed obvious he wanted it thrown so I flung it into the water.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48586138222_930853eabd_h.jpg
As I left he took the frisbee behind some tall plants and then it was flung out into the water again.

Again, I am not part Indian, but a man riding a bicycle is a pretty good sign that people do ride bicycles on this trail.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48585996961_6be25a7777_h.jpg

Got back to by bike, which thankfully was still there. Then went to the nude beach.
You never see a gorgeous woman there. That’s all I have to say.

Then I finally got to the public beach and locked by bicycle in eyeball range.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48586149037_8de6fadd5a_h.jpg
Had a good swim. A great swim actually. Loved it. Picture from my blanket:
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48586008611_7b924f791e_h.jpg

Then ate a sandwich and hunted more trails
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48586010531_ee94a41f49_h.jpg
This trail was my favorite (Shortly after I took this picture I fell)

26.39 miles today,
Went to the lake again:
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48593343507_1d9de54475_o.jpg

First I checked out that forest next to the Union Berlin Stadium.
This trail was odd. Turned out it was a private horse trail (I saw no hoses but that is what a sign said.)
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48593220506_1f5dc1eb6a_h.jpg

I took a narrow trail from it which went to a train-track.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48593218336_1a8ba828b9_h.jpg

Turned back and got slightly lost for 10 minutes.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48593358607_190a955a0e_h.jpg

Crossed a busy road and then saw the private horse trail sign.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48593219871_4693aa765a_h.jpg

Came back to the main street I know and skipped another section of woods for now.
Went to the other side of the stadium (which had a parked ambulance with it lights flashing right in front of the stadium. I wondered if it was for me.)
There on the other side is a creek that ducks really like.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48593356352_133b541486_h.jpg

Finally got to the lake and as soon as I sat on my blanket a duck came to welcome me.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48593357092_2a7a3971b8_h.jpg
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48593360672_6af96e4428_h.jpg
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48593217731_42ce06f061_h.jpg

Went I left I checked-out the woods across the road from the beach entrance.
Glad I did because it was a very good long trail for riding in the shape of a U that was all down hill and brought me back to where I needed to be to go home (instead of going around the whole lake like yesterday.). There are trails splitting off to ride another day.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48593221961_aa4d006441_h.jpg

Was another three guys painting on the other side of the wall.

Small 7.05 mile ride today,
Rode to the dentist. When I left there was a book in the lobby for taking,
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48598765416_409b40a428_o.jpg

Of course I rode by the graffiti wall.
I really can’t say I go out of my way to the wall when I ride my bike because it is the way.
I am curious to see what’s there,

Often I can’t read what it says, but sometimes they add a small readable tag to it.

Oh. Song seems to be Portuguese and the translation actually fits in relation to the subject I posted it too - LoL!
Funny how that worked out.

Swing

A written word
Is an unsaid word.
Is a damn word
Is a recorded word
As a tie
What is a youthful word
Like guava
What a beautiful word
As a tie
Like guava
Very delicious
A word

25.88 mile ride trails/beach/swim today,
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48607983753_0ba56989ac_o.jpg

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48608355181_562aa4edaa_h.jpg

https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48608354846_3704ec1235_h.jpg

I was swimming.
Then when I was done, I swam towards the shore doing backstroke till it got too shallow.
Which was something I don’t recall doing before. Was just something I did for whatever reason.
When it got too shallow I stood and turned to walk the rest, there was a beautiful topless woman just passing me by going for a swim.
I was like: Why the heck?...
It’s a long walk to get in and out of the lake to swimming depth and I missed all that view.
https://live.staticflickr.com/65535/48607994833_9e68d5f6ae_h.jpg

For a long time riding home I saw smoke and worried it might be my building.
But then I went to this high spot on a bridge and knew it was not.
