Did they mention the massacre of 1/4 of the colonists by the “native Americans” (er, Powhatan tribe)?

Maybe they looked at them like we look at the invaders at our southern borders - bringing disease and pestilence and wanting to change everything about our lives.

Glad we ended up here but can see how some might have been a bit "leery" of accommodating these new 'visitors'...

The first colonist from England with my surname and ancestry was killed in that massacre in Olde Jamestown, as was his wife.

The Chief who led the Powhatan attack was the Uncle of Pocahontas. (Can’t recall how to spell his name right now)

A survivor of the massacre was found and was a 1 y/o boy who lived to continue my paternal genetic ancestral line.
