Dunno about this one but I have liked every single movie Tarantino has put out. The guy is incredibly creative.

The only one I ever liked was Pulp Fiction.

I like Tarantino films. Being his 9th, he should be pretty good at making them by now.
The story mentions the loss of his “mentor” Harvey Weinstein, but really it was the loss (death) of his editor Sally Menke that was a huge blow. I don’t know that Harvey was really a mentor to Tarantino other than helping him get going and supporting his career financially. Perhaps, I just don’t know. But Menke was a big part of his films - when you consider that Pulp Fiction which told the story in broken time sequences, editing that film without losing the story line or leaving parts of the story unresolved was the key.

were really good. Pretty much everything else Tarantino had made is pure crap. I’ll give this one a shot.
The late ‘60s in Hollywood is a pretty fascinating time. Hippie culture taking off while the “old guard” — John Wayne, Robert Mitchum, Kirk Douglas, etc. — are still bankable stars. Drug-fueled horror in the person of Manson waiting in the wings. Tarantino seems the perfect guy to bring that crazy time back to life.
They are all good. You may wish to check out hateful eight.
Tarantino wrote the film True Romance - one of the missus’ favorite films - and Samuel Jackson has a small part in that one too. Gary Oldman’s character stole the entire film though. It’s worth it just to watch that one scene. But if you do, also watch the scene with Dennis Hopper and Christopher Walken it is a close second. The rest of the film, imo, falls flat but those two scenes are great. Also a young James Gandolfini has some scenes, and if I am not mistaken it was also Brad Pitt’s first (or one of his first) acting roles. Lots of great bits in the film and a very talented cast.
Tarantino was making good money as a script consultant before his career took off as an auteur. He made his first movie Reservoir Dogs in 1992. True Romance was 1993. But he was getting paid something up to $500,000 to help punch up a a number of scripts for high profile films, often without getting a credit in the years before those two films.

I wonder if Sabo realized Tarantino’s film is framed around the Manson Family murders? Margo Robbie plays Sharon Tate. Tate, pregnant at the time, was Roman Polanski’s wife when she was murdered by Charlie Manson’s crew.

I liked Pulp Fiction. Reservoir Dogs was a good first movie. Kill Bill was ok.
Deathproof sucked, IMHO. Django Unchained sucked, IMHO. Hateful 8 was kind of Pulp Fiction in the old west. Not very good
Inglourious Basterds was great.
The opening scene with Hans Landa is a textbook in how to gradually build the tension.
