I appreciate this was not a scam.
The recipient did not even know he was going to get the gift.
Well done.

He must have taken extra good care of that Buick. I think it rare that a Government Motors car can make it to 295,000 miles. Wonderful gesture by the community and kudos to them!

That’s really nice however, what kind of a car can you get for $7500?

That will get you maybe a six year old Honda with 120,000 miles on it. Should be good for at least another 200,000 miles.

Spend a few minutes on CarMax or GarGurus ... $7,500 can get you a fairly new, very decent ride.

The smaller towns in the south do not have the problems of the big cities
They have good schools and there are black families with a mom and a dad...
I live is SW Florida..moved from Colorado...the kids here all get along ..and the high school sports teams are great...
Plus at the elementary school every veterans Day has a program for the vets.
manners and patriotism are taught in the school

They stopped making the Park Avenue in 2005. Long before the bailout. It had the lengendary 3.8 litre drivetrain, known for longevity, and if need be are cheaply rebuldabile. Excellent choice for a full sized car.
That car is on my short list of good cars to get.

I like these kinds of stories myself.
