It’s bad luck to spend money you find. I’ve given it away to the next person who asks me for money.
One time, I found $40 on a subway platform. A Korean friend told me about this “superstition”.
A day later, this crazy homeless lady asks me for fifty cents, so I hand her a 20 dollar bill. She asked me why, so I told her.Puzzled she was.
The other twenty I gave to a homeless vet in a wheelchair.
True story.
I went to put my grocery cart away in the rack, and somebody had left a case of beer in the bottom of a cart. A car was just leaving the lot and nobody else around.
I brought it back to the store and I explained what happened to the cart guy that rounds up the carts.
“So maybe you have a place for this stuff when they come back?”
He took the cart and said “Or maybe they left it for me as a tip!”
I wasn’t about to get into an argument since he already had the cart in my hands. In hindsight I should have taken it to the manager. Although he probably would have been tempted by free beer as well.
We were at a charity event for my daughter’s school couple years ago. The children were having races and dances which included cake and juice sales for money to upgrade the playground.
I found 5 euros on the ground near the cakes and told the woman behind the table I found this and put it on the table. She took it and said finders keepers and placed it somewhere her side of the table, maybe her bag.
I took a peek inside the shopping-bag. Was a package of chicken breasts, butter in foil-paper, women’s health product and an unusual amount of large chocolate bars, like 5 or 6. Other stuff too but I did not rummage through it.
Last summer when I got on a bus the driver said something after I paid but i didn’t hear good and kept going. Turned out I dropped my bank card but someone turned it into the shop there so I got it back.
Today we are going swimming in White Lake with the puppy :)
Gosh, down here we had a truck drop a couple boxes of screws along I-10 and it caused a hundred or more flats...still waiting for a money truck to lose its load....
Fortunate to have moved so i don’t inhabit that section of I-10 much these days...only flat problems we had was right after Katrina...
Why is it that stories like these happen in the U.S., but you never find out about it except through the British press?
Please tell me, so we will both know the answer.

Synchronicity?
Some say great minds think alike.
The simple truth is, so do Dummies.
