How about we turn them into floating high temperature furnaces. They will travel around the world, cleaning up all the crap that’s floating the oceans and burning it at high temps.

Just like the communists they probably are, these Greenies always focus on energy PRODUCTION, not DISTRIBUTION. How are you going to get electrical power from some “waveship” the middle of the ocean to users on land? Who is going to pay for the installation and maintenance of submarine power conductors?
