You can’t duplicate those circumstances at the range. I’d say hitting his target and not getting shot in the process is a great outcome.

1) Why’d the guy shoot his girlfriend?
2) And, why’d she get in car with someone else and drive away?

If there was "gun control" (Democrat style), the boyfriend would not have had a gun, but the robber would have. THAT is the real-world truth about "gun control".

If the perp was smart he would have gone to college like his momma said, everybody knows it’s a gun free zone. Much safer.
Since we are playing the “if the perp was smarter...” game:
If he were smarter he would not need to go to college to know what a gun free zone is because he would have learned how to read a sign once he graduated from High School.
And since our perp was smarter he would have not been indoctrinated by leftist colleges and got a trade to make money thus keeping him busy to not want to go to a gun free zone. Thus saving him in tens of thousands of dollars in student loans.
And if our Congress critters were smarter, they would realize that gun free zones are like shooting at moving targets and ban them.
If only the perp were smarter...sigh.
So we are not supposed to live our lives because criminals are on the streets?
