"The flag was presented to us by four WWII veterans from the cemetery in Normandy in France back in January. We wanted something special to carry with us on this journey and we were fortunate to meet these four incredible veterans," Dell says. "And we walked through the cemetery with them as they were telling us their stories. the flag came down at 4 p.m. and the veterans presented it to the team. This is nice to know. A worthwhile history lesson while the team is overseas.

Should be its own news item. Was happy to read it at the bottom of the story though.

Endler, who plays club soccer less than six miles away for Paris Saint-Germain and attended the University of South Florida in Tampa from 2012-14, finished the game with six saves. It would be very informative if athletic contests like World Cup and Olympics, posted the flag of the country where each athlete trains or attended college, as well as the flag of the country each is representing. It would make for a very interesting graphic.

I believe UF is only behind USC in the universities with the most Olympic medals in the past few Olympic Games.

Meanwhile:
In just his second appearance for the USMNT, Boyd scored a pair of goals and provided one of the clear-cut bright spots on a day when the Americans delivered as disjointed a
4-0 victory as you'll see.
The win over Guyana lacked fluidity for long stretches but ended up providing some bright spots on which to build.

Last year I changed my daughter’s school to one with a soccer program.
She loves it.
