My Post 53:

Given enough legislature support, the President can issue a multitude of executive orders which will not be bucked, or even better, be codified into law that cannot be undone by the next President:

e.g.: Dispersing the various cabinet units to areas of the country where their ‘clientele’ resides will break up a lot of DC’s cliques.

Also necessary: reign in the District and Circuit courts. Again, a sympathetic Legislative Branch can do wonders in restoring judicial sanity.

It is OUR job to change the elected landscape in DC to the point where this type of fundamental restoration can happen.

“People forget that the IGs are staffed by career employees of the agencies they work for. Ultimately, these internal inspections protect the institution. It is baked into the process.”

***************

That is absolutely true. I wish more people were aware of that protective relationship.

IG’s are not inclined to rock the boat. As employees of the agencies in which they conduct their investigations they have plenty of reasons to “tone down” their findings.

As employees, they are also part of the culture of their agencies. They don’t want to provoke the ire and resentment of their fellow workers.

In short, they don’t want to make their agencies look bad.

He’s playing the voters for fools just like his mentor.

Agree. And I’m tempted to add that he’s just like most of the rest of his Republican colleagues. They are a deceptive lot and not to be trusted.

We will need a 1994-style Newt Gingrich figure to nationalize the election...just like his Contract with America did back then

A FINE proposition

I’d put PeesLoosely in there somewhere for falsifying O’Bungler’s certification of candidate qualifications

These people go into their positions knowing full well what is expected of them.

And they know it's all upside because there is no risk of being held to account because there never is. Thus, more and more government employees are not deterred from being political operatives and breaking the law.

Not with the level of competence we’ve come to expect from them. They are not masters of the universe, they are just common crooks who took advantage of the opportunities in front of them.

I also came to the conclusion that so few people had to be in on it, that talented resources may not have been available.

Correct. And the career employees who staff the IG rotate in and out of these assignments meaning they go back to the field after the IG assignment. They don’t want to make enemies that could affect future advancement and assignments.

Wrong. Many people had to be in on it from multiple agencies. You don't do such wide ranging surveillance without the cooperation and coordination of a large number of assets. Besides orchestrating the intelligence assets, there are the more pedestrian aspects like administrative support including payments, disseminating information via various channels that involve communications personnel, and cataloging information. You need hundreds of people to do this depending on the size of the operation.

I think the press should be included in this fiasco. At what point does treason overrule the freedom of the press?

I was talking only of the Obama's fake birth certificate, NOT the Trump surveillance.

You know the times are a changin' when even a dyed-in-the-wool establishment player is now embracing what was previously considered fringe conspiracy theory. I feel a compliment is in order, since it takes a good man to change deeply held opinions even when new facts are presented.

As to the main thread, the problem so many patriots face is the issue of unrealistic expectations; perhaps even entitlement. As in, many conservatives actually believe the BS that the USA is a self-governing republic. This explains why so many people are shocked and dismayed when it's discovered that reality is more like the Matrix, where there's only a simulacrum.

I find it useful to flip the analysis upside down, and consider actual events that have taken place in this country over the last 100 years. For one, how did the Federal reserve act get pushed through the same year not only the 16th amendment, but the 17th AS WELL? In comparison, what are some of the most significant legislative acts over the last 50 years? Civil rights, immigration, O-care? None come close to the transformative nature of 1913.

Now, consider the international game board at that time, where GB held the ground, but well recognized the threat Germany presented. Was WWI just some unfortunate, horrible series of cascading events, or were the primary belligerents gearing up for a confrontation regardless of spark? And if that's the case, wouldn't it behoove GB to have the USA prepped and ready to come to their assistance, especially if they were so financially wed that neutrality would bankrupt the key lending institutions. (That is, the core city banks behind the newly established Fed reserve.)

Any light bulbs going on yet? Think it through. Was the 1913-1914 time period just this set of interesting coincidences? Why don't we jump to 1941 where the Brits - absolute crypto leaders out of Blechley - had broken the Japanese codes? Are things beginning to make a little more sense? So, back to the main point: if we're truly living inside a matrix, where the facade of democracy and self-determination are utilized to pacify a large swath of the people, then wouldn't all these events begin to make perfect, logical connections?

That's why there's no outrage in 1/2 the population - they're the beneficiaries of going along with the program. The problem people are truly the deplorables; we get back to a sense of entitlement and expectation. This is where Cankles slipped up when she expressed the true opinion held by the 5 eyes leadership. That is, we're so low class and stupid that we don't even realize the game is fixed, and we're dumb enough to keep complaining and attempting to have reality conform to our fantasy views.
