But you can, Signor Caio. When your great-grandfather said things like God does not exist while in power as a fascist, that makes it very clear what side of the fence he was on. Never mind your socialistic great-great-grandfather Alessandro, who named his son after Benito Juárez of all people.
Frankly I don’t care what Mussolini did on Italian soil.
I do care about the fact that he gassed Ethiopians.
Other than that, helluva guy and a fabulous dancer.
The thought comes to mind of how many democrat politicians must admire the notion that if they could only convince the masses that only they know what is ‘truly good for them’, how wonderful things would be.
Il-Duce III
Il Douchebag
>>he said the current ban on the fascist salute should be extended to the raised clenched fist of the communists,
Well, I can agree with him on that, but thats about it.
If the standard of value is God given natural rights which includes liberty, then fascism is wrong.
Il Douchebag III
That’s as far as I go too.
Of course, Caio isn’t acknowledging that there is really no difference between fascism and communism.
That makes no sense. Do you feel the same way about North Korea or Iran? Tyrannies never stay within their borders.
Seems to me that fascism and communism are just absolute monarchy with non-hereditary monarchs (except for North Korea, where even the monarchy *is* hereditary). Ceausescu was grooming his son to be his successor when it all went south.
So he’s defending the guy who tried to sneak out of Italy dressed as a German soldier. Some leader. At least his people got to see him hanging around at a gas station.
I do have a test today, that wasn't bullsh.... It's on European Socialism. I'm not European, nor do I plan on being European, so who gives a crap if they're socialists? It still wouldn't change the fact that I don't own a car!
Not that I condone fascism, or any -ism for that matter. -Ism's in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an -ism, he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in Beatles, I just believe in me." Good point there. After all, he was the walrus. I could be the walrus. I'd still have to bum rides off people.
I thought it was Abyssinia at the time?
Of course. Just like the Roman Empire too, where the title “imperator” (literally “commander”) was substituted for “rex” for political expedience; with the communists, it’s “general secretary” (take note that the head of the UN uses that title).
Internally wasn’t much difference between Franco and Mussolini. Difference, for the most part Franco kept his antics within Spain (yes I know they sent a token division to fight in Russia with the Nazis, but he also refused to attack Gibraltar).
That’s Haile Selassie of you.
