Here's the Twitter beat cop's 'citation'

"Your account has been locked for violating the Twitter Rules. Specifically for: Violating our rules against hateful conduct. You may not promote violence against, threaten, or harass other people on the basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease."

Here was my 'triggering' offense

"@dbongino Disgusting hell This guy needs to be doxxed, harassed, tarred and feathered and ridden out of town on a rail"

>>Touchy little buggers, aren't they???<<

I remember my history books having pictures of tarring, feathering and riding out of town images

PS NOTHING in my comment has a "basis of race, ethnicity, national origin, sexual orientation, gender, gender identity, religious affiliation, age, disability, or serious disease"

....Unless being a local elected potentate is evidence of a (mental) disability

You did know that tarring & feathering was usually fatal?

That’s okay. My account was locked for three days while I emailed twitter back and forth just because my account “looked suspicious.” I didn’t even violate any rules. Twitter told me I was mistakenly swept up. Yeah right s/

Tarring and feathering is violent.

The tar is hot and once it is on you, it won’t come off without taking your skin with it.

The victim often dies.

Most people like their skin where it is and without boiling hot tar on it.

I’m sure they do. Perhaps the objects of the exercise should respect the rights of others. Then they wouldn’t have to worry at all.

Maybe that’s just me.

NOTHING in my comment was directed against any member of the “special” classes cited above. I would assume that a minor elected official is big enough to not need Twitter’s Goon Squad protection

Here are pretty good rules for using Twitter without getting into trouble:

” NO profanity, NO personal attacks, NO racism or violence in posts.”

My local newspaper, which I used to subscribe to, banned me from their online comment section.

I followed all their rules. No 'hate speech'. No attacking people. No racist comments. It didn't matter. I simply kept posting my opinion that most, if not all, the problems in our city are the result of Democratic politicians, Democratic 'initiatives', and the Democratic majority which keeps electing them.

After I was banned, I cancelled my subscription.

If they're not going to allow me to comment even according to their own rules, I won't be reading their newspaper anymore.

Social media is now run by social justice warriors who don't believe in debating ideas.

Assume is a nasty word.

When I had my business and during a phone conversation that person said the word 'assume' I would jump their case.

In my case it meant money not in my favor.

In your case, people that are bigger than you.

How about a warm wax, then feathers? That way, no one dies, AND they can remove unwanted hair.

There are alternatives to Twitter, I know. But none of them have reached “critical mass” yet.

Jumping to one of them would make about as much sense as if you had jumped to a newspaper one state over to list your criticisms I recon

No, it wasn’t. Not unless the assailant was a special kind of fool who used road tar instead of the customary pitch.

They would likely call that a form of waterboarding, and Senator “Thumbs-Down” would come out of his grave just to condemn you for it
