Could've been worse. They could've resorted to SONAR first. /s
You are kidding. That's like saying the Saturn V is based on 10th century chinese technology where they used gun powder rockets tied to sticks. They are both rockets it's just the Saturn V is a billion times more complex and necessitated hundreds of materials and technologies that had yet to even be invented when the Apollo program was launched.
Yes, I am aware of that.
But my earlier post referred to what enabled those incredible Americans to get back alive.
I am not discounting what the men in Houston did at all. Every one of those men played a significant and critical role in the entire mission (both the original plan and the improvised one!).
Anyway, if you are so inclined, take a look. You might find it very interesting, to say the least.
Some people know some stuff. Some people know other stuff. My comment was about the lack of subject photos to go with all the other historic pictures used. Pre-flight, during flight or even Walter Cronkite holding a model of a lunar module while he explains what it does.
I see. I would assume as it was a dry run that Apollo 10’s lunar land would pretty much look just like the other 15 that where built.

Thanks. I didn’t notice the getty copyright until I posted. I’m the last person who would have any trouble come to FR, so thanks to the mods for taking it down.
