That all originated from 1920s Jazz Era. You even see & hear it (at least its beginnings!) in 1930s & 1940s interviews with musicians & teens trying to sound like them. Zoot suits and all that! Did they call themselves Zooters? I remember teasing my late dear old WWII dad about that. He was in the Marines by then and coming from rural WV, the whole Jazz era thing hadn’t penetrated very far into the state or his psyche. He did remember seeing men in zoot suits in San Diego.

No, it was Al White and Norman Alexander Gibbs.

“Three’s Company” is another remake of a Britcom, from “Man About The House”, JFTR.

“Take him to Detroit” would be far scarier today.

How about “Amazon Women on The Moon”? Lots of un-PC stuff.

The predecessor of both, “The Groove Tube” would be verboten today, too.

Was Groove Tube the movie where Buzzy Linhart chases a country girl through the woods while disrobing? I think Chevy Chase got his start in that movie playing a news anchor. He was reporting on the Vietnam war using town names like Longwang and Phucyu. Or was that Kentucky Fried Movie?
