We assume CNN and the NYT, who’ve been operating near bankruptcy for years, are capitalist organizations in business for money
Why do we assume that?
CNN is operated by people who have enough money to keep them afloat like a good for nothing trust fund adult child

Ratings (=ad income) is probably not important; they have “alternate financing sources”. And I’ll bet that the lefty advertisers pay way over the going rate per set of eyeballs anyway; perfect way to hide donations.

Their entire audience consists of Beltway GOPers who watch to see what they should be scared about.
CNN does not care about ratings. CNN gets some ad revenue but it also gets money from the cable companies. Everyone that pays a cable bill is giving CNN money.
CNN is in 100 million American House holds. So if they are only getting a few cents a month from each cable subscriber it ads up to a lot of money.
Apparently ATT/Warner is content to let CNN subsist on carriage fees alone, if it comes to that. The ‘trust fund’ is those of us who pay for cable.
Who needs ratings when a net has carriage fees?

Amazing hot the fake news kept them afloat, then they got caught as liars and people left. Interesting to see how “marketing-negative and positive” works.

Ironically I'm even better informed on current events as I focus on my curated news feeds and Free Republic. Journalism still lives on sites like Townhall, American Thinker and Rantingly.

Putting subliminal in film, by interspersing single or double frames is one thing. Doing something like that in print is another. Reminds me of the guy on SNL who would talk to a girl like this ...

People more interested in real recipes/results on Food Network, than half baked lies on CNN :):):)
1. Some channels, including religious ones, would wither on the vine. So they’re mandatory for ‘your own good.’
2. The providers make a lot more money this way.
3. Streaming will be the death of the bundled model.
