Does the Humbolt Current then make a U-turn at Cabo San Lucas and flow north? Actually there is an eddy around the tip of the peninsula but not enough to flush the Gulf with cold water.
How deep is the Gulf on average? about 2400 feet. So, deep water is going to be cold anyway.
