The first family (Safechuck's) I actually felt a bit sorry for. Michael Jackson wormed his way in over the course of a couple years, at first paling around with the mother and father, then gradually getting close to the young son after he had gained their trust. He started hanging around their house claiming he just wanted to live like a "normal" person, the mother thought of him a second son, cooking his meals, doing his laundry. I think she genuinely felt close to him and thought he was a good person. Then Jackson began taking them on tour with him. At first perfectly normal, he would invite them to his suite to watch movies or whatever. Then he began asking if their son could spend the night with him because he was bored and wanted someone to talk to. The first few times she said no and Jackson never pressed the is issue, but after a while relented because the two got along so well and she trusted him. Once Jackson got his hooks into the boy, he began to push the rest of the family away. At first they were in a Suite across from his, then the next tour they would be at the far end of the hall, then they would be on different floors. The mother eventually got suspicious and even spied on them a couple times but never witnessed anything inappropriate so decided she was just being paranoid.

The second family however were just nuts. They had only known Jackson for a couple days when they just left their son with him and took a week's vacation to the Grand Canyon.
