I was stopped at a red light at a busy intersection, just lost in thought about the Lord and how good He is and I didn’t notice that the light had changed.
I worked as a night shift enlarger operator in a pro photo lab. A fellow enlarger operator was into Garner Ted Armstrong’s World Wide Church of God.
So my friend was working in the dark at his enlarger and thinking about God, when he heard a click, and the room began to glow red. Then he started feeling heat on his legs. He almost had a heart attack, fearing that the end of the world was upon us and he was feeling the heat of hell!
The glow and the heat persisted but seemed to be coming from under the easel table he was sitting at. Looking down, he saw that the day shift operator, apparently feeling cold, had brought in an electric space heater and sat it under the table. The click was the thermostat turning the heater on, the glow was from the electric heater coils, and the heat was being blown onto him by the heater fan.
Was he ever relieved!
I'll bet he was relieved when he realized it was a heater! The room beginning to glow red would be a real bad sign if it wasn't. ;)
When the glow started, he thought he might be going to hell. And when his legs and feet began getting hot he KNEW he was. LOL
Bet it was a hell of a wakeup call...
