Here in Canada, global warming is religion. Our kids go to Christian school, which still promotes environment crap too much for my liking, but not like public school. My wife who talked to her friend was told her friend’s kids came home from public school one day in tears because they thought planet earth was ending.

Some things have always bothered me about measuring CO2 from the top of a volcano in Hawaii. First why does it have to be on top of a mountain, is the altitude of the measurement significant? If so why? I don't ever recall any of the various articles on Global warming explaining why the measurements are taken that way. Second, why measure on top of an active volcano. Mona Loa has not erupted recently but it is not dormant. Even long inactive volcanoes emit gases, including CO2. Also, Kilauea is continuously erupting and must be emitting gases. Finally why measure in the middle of an ocean at all. The ocean is a CO2 sink. When seawater contains CO2. Varying the temperature of seawater and you vary the CO2 content of it.

If they really need to measure CO2 at altitude why not pick one of the 14k mountains in Colorado? They are not volcanically active. The top of the mountain is well above the tree line so no large plants can influence the reading. And the measurements would be taken a thousand miles from the nearest ocean.

Sadly this is not the first time I have heard this. This scaremongering comes right from the Ministry of Education. In fact a provincial judge, in another matter of brainwashing, has told a father that trying to steer his daughter away form questioning her gender, is child abuse. So that is the judiciary we are up against and they would likely side with global warming fearmongering.
