People didn’t just WANT to believe Jussie, they want to believe the narrative that white people, especially Trump supporters, are racist homophobes that hunt down people like him. Truth be told, Jussie could walk around at 2 am in most white towns with not a worry about his safety. No one is stalking gay black men, or any of the other intersectionally privileged classes. It’s all in their heads. But if they had this one case, they could beat us over the head with it, over and over. And they probably still will, like Trayvon Martin, Michael Brown and dozens of other cases of fake outrage.

Well, author whose name I don’t remember, to anyone who can still think clearly, it shoulda been obvious that this story was untrue from the beginning-—further proof that actors, especially ones with an ax to grind, are STUPID, can be seen in the details Smullett gave to the cops, the most incredible of which was that his assailants yelled out “THIS IS MAGA COUNTRY!!” I grew up in Chicago, and it is far less MAGA country NOW than it has ever been (and it never was).Then he wouldn’t turn over his cellphone to cops to corroborate his story that he was talking to his manager exactly at the time of the assault, and finally did turn over some heavily altered phone records-—the fact is, you WaPo fool, Smollet’s hoax is by no means an exception to the rule....at this point it IS the rule-—99% of these FAKE racial crimes, are engineered hoaxes, and most of them lately are about nothing more than trying to “get Trump” by the fabricated MAGA hat (see Covington Catholic kids narrative), MAGA-yelling attacker-association> This fool Jussie brought it all on himself. We can only hope that it will slow up the process of this type of hoax. Whoever engineers the next one will have to do it better than this one. Now we can expect to hear a chorus of the wised-up but still gullible, which will tell us, “OKAY, this “might have” been a hoax, but it “could have” happened, because it’s happened in the past (with the implication that we should always welcome being reminded that once upon a time, white on black racial assaults actually existed. This is where we are now.
