I agree. If we don’t confront the evil in the world, we have no ammunition to fight back.

Evidently it does, Spunky.
Now he can’t be blamed for shutting down the government.
But because of the emergency and his Constutional authority to defend the nation, he can waive provisions or refuse to enforce them.
The Dems just stepped on a landmine, and they now realized they are in the middle of an entire field of landmines.
Oh, and don’t worry about a court challenge.
Congress gave the President this very authority to act under the enabling investigation. Congress can overtunr the declaration, but not some Federal judge. And if some Federal judge feigns to think he has the powwer ti usurp the power of the President in a declared emergency, the President will rightfully disregard such a ruling.

I just heard Steve Scalise with Martha McCallum say that some of the poison Pills in the bill we’re struck out before the vote. He gave the example of local authorities having veto power over wall.
