>>Hey, at least they didn’t entitle it “Mr. Roger’s Hood”.

They will reboot the franchise the following year and cast Eddie Murphy as young Mr. Rogers

>>I hated his female voice impressions and that stupid cat.

Hollywood will highlight his feminine side and his struggle to give it a voice.

Agreed.

Captain Kangaroo was so much more appealing to me. Maybe because he used a bit of comedy to entertain us kids.

No offense to Mister Rogers, but he was a snoozefest for as far as I can remember.

I haven’t seen a Tom Hanks movie since Hanks and his wife donated to the Clintons’ defense fund.

And I have a long memory, Hollyweird.

I’m 68 and never watched him. I remember older kids making fun of him. You must be quite a bit younger than me.

The same one you’re using on Fred Rogers. Jeez, irony’s lost on you, isn’t it?

No, the irony is not lost one me because there is no irony. Only in your own mind.

The rule applies to posters attacking other FReepers with personal attacks and calling them names. Calling me a moron comes to mind.

But it doesn't apply to doing the same to others outside the forum. I can call Nancy Pelosi an idiot all day long and that doesn't violate the FR rules against "NO personal attacks".

Maybe if you stuck to the argument itself instead of the name calling, you might understand that your personal attack on me is exactly why the rule is in place to begin with.

You moron. Fred Rogers has never been accused of anything untold toward a child. Yet you claim your uncle told he did and that’s good enough for you. Go fly a kite. As to no personal attacks? Stick around here and you’ll see plenty.

There you go again, calling me names because you don't agree with my opinion.

Maybe you should reread the post. I didn't say anything about my uncle saying that. And I didn't claim anything other than my opinion, which is exactly what this forum is about. Exchanging ideas and opinions.

What I did say was that he was like a creepy uncle that my parent always told my to stay away from.

That fact that you don't agree with me is fine, but the name-calling is not acceptable.

No I don’t agree with your unfounded and malicious smear and baseless accusation against a decent man. Piss of, I’m done with you.

So we disagree. See how that works? Easy peasy.

You don't have to call people names because they disagree with you.

That's what liberals do.

Where’s the fun in not being able to call our fellow FReepers “morons” ? ;-D

Captain Kangaroo was acting the part of the straight guy for Bunny Rabbit and Mr. Moose. Mr. Moose was the 2nd funniest guy on TV, right behind Don Knotts, and he used ping pong balls... Nobody fell for the ole ping pong ball routine better than the Caption. Nobody!

I know I’m resurrecting a post from back in December of last year, but the trailer for the movie dropped this morning. After watching it, I can say that I THINK they got it right about Fred Rogers.

I was afraid they’d make the film into a hit piece on the man, trying to destroy his legacy. Much to my surprise, the trailer seemed to do justice to just how nice the guy was in real life...all the time. The reviewer from MovieWeb said that this film might be “the most wholesome film ever made’.

Crossing my fingers. Film comes out around Thanksgiving this year.
