But his greatest nemesis was one Mrs Mary Whitehouse, who founded the National Viewers and Listeners Association.
A strange name. It wasn't national, just Mrs Whitehouse and a bunch of groupies. It wasn't an association: she ran it with an iron fist. And it wasn't about viewers and listeners: its main aim was to prevent viewers from watching what the wanted to watch, and listeners from hearing what they wanted to hear.
But history (alas) was on her side: the Western media is almost universally complicit in implementing her tyrannical agenda.
Please, Daleks, exterminate the MSM.
Are there gay daleks this season?
Hardly Jo Grant, Romana II, Leela, or Tehan.
Used to love watching the Doctor on it’s Phily TV station back in the early 70s. Especially when a commercial for this product would come on during the show;

We would always say “set to exterminate!” and things like that.
They can’t,

It’s a 20 minute Comic Relief parody staring Rowan Atkinson as the Doctor among others. A must see for all Whovians.
Tom Baker and Jon Pertwee were the ones I grew up with. A lot of the William Hartnell and Patrick Troughton episodes (and some of the Pertwee ones) were destroyed by the BBC bureaucrats but a number of them since recovered.
Always a great laugh
I never found the Daleks nearly as viscerally ‘Oh Holy Crap!’ awful as I did the Angels. I STILL avoid making eye contact with an angel statue on the rare occasion I see one...
They will kill off “Doctor Woke” next season due to bad ratings and will probably have the next Doctor wake up from a bad dream ...
Correct. Those seasons are the only good ones in the modern series.
My sons and I used to watch every Dr Who...but we are done with it now that it’s Dr #MeToo
I don’t suppose it could happen that whatshername drops in on the early seventh century, meets Mohammed, and starts chastising him for taking an 8 year old bride, or whatever, and his followers take umbrage?
Very disappointed in this season’s Dr. Who. Not because he turned into a she but because it’s so chock full of PC and SJW nonsense. It drips of it in practically every scene making it unwatchable IMHO. The writers have ruined it. Of course they have done the same thing to just about every tv series from Hollyweird too. If the writing had been more traditional; this female Dr. Who would be just fine. I like her style; just not the PC crap they make her say.
That’s the problem with being an actor. Their words and feelings are not their own. They are just roll playing. For me it would be living a lie even if I could justify it just being make believe. Maybe I’m too rigid and not accepting of all the gray area.
Mrs WBill has been a fan for decades. She was excited about the new, female, doctor. "About time.", or somesuch was her comment.
She watched the first show, and none since. It may have even gone too PC for my lovely wife. I'll not bother asking, glad not to have it on in the house, and if she's just forgotten about it, all the better.
A hot ginger from the Highlands..
Be still my beating heart!
“Never could take that show, but for one Dr - David Tennant. The rest? Meh.”
I’ve liked most of the shows since the reboot. Although...
If not for Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) I probably wouldn’t have hung around long.
She lasted through Eccleston and into Tennants run and has reappeared several times.
Tennant was my favorite even with the overbearing Donna as his companion. Thankfully they dumped Donna for the young and adventurous Martha Smith (Freema Agyemon).
The best thing I can say about Matt Smith’s time as Dr Who is he brought Amy Pond (Karen Gillan) and River Song (Alex Kingston) to us.
I can even forgive the writers for that epitome of wimpishness Rory Williams (Arthur Darvile).
Oh, and Jenna Coleman!
Peter Capaldi’s run as the Dr has been hit and miss with me as I wasn’t able to see most of the episodes.
The writers are losing me with this Dr. Two strong women and two bumbling males seems to be the formula they are going for.
They are bringing back the Daleks so you know the ratings are down.
Impossibly annoying girl LOL
I put up with Clara, though she was....confusing. Was excited about Capaldi, and he could have been awesome. But they gave him crappy stories and kept up the PC trash, worse and worse till they not only had a lesbo companion (gee, that’s nice) but also crapped on Hartnell’s legacy to prop her up. That’s when I gave up.
I refuse to watch Whittaker. That was an idiot move.
If they wanted a Time Lady they should have casted an awesome actress and brought back Romana—my favorite companion.
One more quibble. River Song worked well with Capaldi. There are some moments they had together on screen that were delicious—and as the Doctor’s Wife (now that’s a tough role to write), she had tremendous potential. But they made her a completely degenerate man-chasing bigamist who supposedly loves the Doctor yet goes around marrying dirtbag men. Penelope of Ithaca she ain’t.
So far this season has been a bust for us...
...the first incarnation of the Doctor we won’t be watching any repeats.
“its so chock full of PC and SJW nonsense.”
It’s awful. Combine that with boring plots it’s not watchable.
