Kurdistan 24 English

***************
4h...updated 2h ago
“There is nothing going on, the situation is normal, the coalition forces are on the front line together with the #Manbij Military Council (MMC) and there are no clashes.” #TwitterKurds #Syria

ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – The commander-in-chief of the Manbij Military Council (MMC), Mohammed Abu Adel, says there is no sign of a Turkish attack on Manbij, despite claims by Turkish-backed rebels on social media.

“There is nothing going on, the situation is normal, the coalition forces are on the front line together with the MMC and there are no clashes,” he told Kurdistan 24 on Tuesday.

“There is a lot of propaganda and provocations of future attacks on Manbij, but nothing is going on right now.”

According to some sources, Turkish-backed Islamist groups made a lot of military movements near Manbij.

Some reports said both the Ahrar al-Sharqiya and the al-Hamza brigade were mobilizing its troops near the Sajur line.

Saif Abu Bakr, the leader of the Turkish-backed al-Hamza Division, tweeted that the battle had not started yet, but that there were reinforcements.

The military movements come after the Russian army re-established the Russian-Syrian coordination center in Arima on Tuesday while more Syrian army forces reinforced their points there.

An MMC statement, meanwhile, said the Russians withdrew some time ago.

However, the statement added that the presence of the Syrian Arab Army in the western countryside of Arima is nothing new, noting that “recent developments led to a reinforcement and increase of forces that were stationed there.”

“The Syrian Army has been in Arima since last year and increased its troops at its points, with Russian troops arriving at Arima,” MMC head Adel told Kurdistan 24.

Turkey is determined to cross to the east of the Euphrates River as soon as possible, Hurriyet quoted Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavu as saying on Tuesday.

Turkey has increased its threats after US President Donald Trump’s decision to withdraw troops last week.

Meanwhile, senior Kurdish officials have called on the international community to implement a no-fly zone to stop the Turkish threats.

Hi all!

Hope everyone had/is having a blessed Christmas.

I went out to the farm early so I could be there when the kids opened their gifts. Always fun. They’re not spoiled at all, so a few gifts to them is so exciting. Love to see them have so much fun.

We had a late lunch, as my daughter and son-in-law invited a husband and wife who run a dairy farm. They weren’t going to have a Christmas at all because of milking morning and afternoon....3 young kids and one on the way. She’s pretty tired. They had a few hours this afternoon so they stopped in, had a big turkey/ham with all the trimmings lunch, pecan pie, cheesecake, apple pie & ice-cream....then we sent them off with tons of leftovers to get them through tomorrow. Farms are sooooo much work. If every child was raised on a farm we’d have no snowflakes whining about everything.

Anyway, already in my jammies and settled in the the night. Hope y’all had great days!

Oaktown ☢ Unfiltered

Here is the section where we would see invaders crossing and hopping over the fence. Well that sh*t has stopped. The area is now heavily guarded and barbed wire was added to top of fence , as well as infrared cameras and helicopters patrolling the area. 😎

That's an excellent summary of affairs vie-a-vis the Kurds and Syria!!
Big question is whether the Kurds and Syria ally against Turkey or not.

Looks like Trump won't be getting to recess appoint positions in his admin. All blame for that is on Mitch.

SURPRISE!!!! A lot of these Saudi/UAE troops were ALREADY THERE in disguise. Now they are coming out openly.

As the world fills its collective diapers about Trump’s announcement that we are withdrawing the 2000 US ground troops from Syria and 7000 ground troops from Afghanistan, we can easily determine what’s happening. The evidence is right there before our eyes.

The soldiers in “boonie” hats are Gulf Arabs, almost certainly Saudis and/or Emiratis.

Initially—in 2015—they operated masked, wearing Kurdish insignia.

,p>

Now, most of them don’t wear masks. They have American-style uniforms with no insignia, and they use American weapons and equipment.

American ground troops in Syria engaged in SOME combat, and they trained SOME Syrians, but the real reason Trump sent soldiers, marines, and air force joint terminal attack controllers (JTACs) was to make our enemies have second thoughts. Our enemies weren’t sure how far we’d go. The Russians discovered on February 7, 2018, that we’d go pretty goddam far. Putin learned a lot from that bloodbath.

Another reason that Trump sent troops was as camouflage for OTHER units. Non-American units. This next video is very significant. Although most of the vehicles are American, this one is not.

This is a variant of the General Dynamics Land Systems Pandur armored personnel carrier. The US Special Forces version is the Armored Ground Mobility System (AGMS).

The vehicle in the AFP video has a BGM-71 TOW antitank guided missile launcher. The American AGMS isn’t armed with TOW missile launchers. As Americans moved around in Syria, our Arab allies tagged along, hidden in plain sight.

Not American......The rucksacks are modeled on the British Bergen system.

Those are Gulf Arabs. That man is wearing a very elaborate communications system under his mask. You can see mouthpieces and earpieces. It looks to me that the glasses also have devices on the arm, which is why he’s actually wearing TWO masks. He’s hiding some very high-tech gear.

For years, the US has trained the Iraqis, Afghans, and Syrians to stand on their own. We’ve also asked regional allies to step up.

Now that the training is paying off, and other nations are directly involved on the ground, people are hysterical. Why? Were they only paying lip service to their stated ideals?
Yes! They were indeed.

Well, you can have our men and women be sent overseas to fight, or you can have the locals shoulder the burden of putting people on the front line.

NIKK...the top link has several videos. I think this is a very informatived article that should really help all of us understand ...because the media is certainly not telling this truth.

Excellent article, as I said.
Doesn’t .answer the BIG question though. The Syrians and Russians reinforced their positions West of Manjib. That could be to defend Majib-supporting the Kurds- or to attack the Turk’s Aleppo corridor in Syria- NOT defending the Kurds.
Whether Syria allies or not with the Kurds is the BIG queation.

Anyway, excellent article.
I’ll add the Syrians are moving into the “haijin pocket” at Deir Azur in the South to remove the last of the ISIS there and, presumably, take possesion of the oil fields there from the Kurds.

And Merry Christmas to you and, again, to all on this thread. Again, sometimes it’s the only sane one on FR!

Ah! A second article.
Another pic to add:

"Armored vehicles of the French army on the line of the river of Sajor separator between Manbj and Jarablus this afternoon. These patrols are the first of its kind following US statements to withdraw its troops participating in the International Alliance of Syria"

It's still 3 months before we're out BTW.
