Actually, it’s one of the reasons I DON’T usually buy ‘farm’ eggs. Although, as we all know, bacteria are there, even if you can’t see them, so eggs without obvious fecal matter on them, is no guarantee that there’s no residue of it. I have, occasionally, seen store bought eggs with a bit of poop on them. And since a chicken’s vent is used for copulation, defecation, AND egg laying, it’s amazing we DON’T get sick! I’ve been cooking for almost 50 years, and to my knowledge, none of us have ever had salmonella. I suspect we’ve all developed immunity to most varieties.

Yeah, I swallowed a raw egg once for $1 bet.
My dad use to put raw eggs in his beer mug so that’s what gave me the idea to do it for a $1.
There was a group of us 21 some year olds that use to swallow live goldfish from an aquarium at a tavern. The tavern owner started putting minnows in there because they were cheaper.
