What is up with the goggle thing?
Iron Sky is kind of Nazi steampunk
People used to wear goggles while driving. Later on, the early fliers wore them.
It wasn’t as silly as it looks. Shatter-resistant glass didn’t come along until after WWI, if I’m not mistaken.
Time traveling is a favorite theme of steampunk aficionados.
“a tight-waisted Victorian gown with a bustle and a bonnet. A slinky 1930’s dress or a tailored Edwardian or an equestrian ensemble or a 1940’s romper.”
Be still my beating heart!
That right there is downright, may I say, sexy!
I love the old fashions.
When women were women, men were men and the confused weren’t celebrated.
I really started watching the Murdock Mysteries because of the era portrayed. Still love it.
You mean become atheists?
I think the fashion in “Murdoch” is very appealing, and the lead actor has such pretty brown eyes and straight, white teeth.
Who can blame them?
Today makes me pinch my nose LOL
They have the period down pat. Even the dialogue is pretty good.
The fella is Yannick Bisson from Montreal.
I like Helene Joy (Dr Julia Ogden). She’s an Australian.
I love her clothes, but she’s looking old these days.
Yeah, that happens to all of us. :(
Rules! You know the rules!
Oh I know the rules, I’m just inclined to remain anonymous! But there are times I’m tempted. ;)
I don't know. I used to ride my Ducati to work while wearing a nice Italian cut suit (Armani), but with wrap arounds (Gatorz) instead of goggles. Nothing gets a girl to swooning like wrap arounds perched on your head and a smashed fly with its guts plastered on your forehead that you discover hours later.
Technically, it's more toward the Dieselpunk end of the spectrum. [/nerd]
I didn’t know there was such a thing.
