Don’t get the question.

The spoilers on the Max are solely 'fly by wire', unlike the earlier 737s where they could be mechanically operated.

Well, I’m quite confident that the loss of electrical on the 737 Max wouldn’t cause you any issue with Bleed Air; you could just generate hot air to replace the loss of the electronic system.

Watch Juan Browns explanation, the stuff is out there. They want the manuals up dated for emphasis. Blame Boeing aqll you want, Lion Air is a crap airline. The instrument was malfunctioning on the flight just prior to the crash flight. The same scenario played out, the pilot called a “PAN PAN PAN” the second highest level of emergency a short distance from the departure airport. The he canceled the emergency and proceeded with the flight. If a U.S. pilot had done that without returning he would have been grounded and most likely had his ticket pulled.

There are two separate sets of controls, when they are in conflict as recovered the flight data recorder showed, the pilots are to hand fly the aircraft. That didn’t happen here and the captain let the plane fly itself into the ground

If he's taking off too slowly, yes, he's incompetent.

Riiiight. Some SWAir pilots have complained about the feature, yet I don't recall a single SWA plane crash. The pilot was clearly incompetent. And no, I don't work for Boeing, and I'm not spreading FUD. If the part was made in China, they'll still wind up paying for everything.

If a plane's nose gets too high while flying upright too slowly, a stall could ensue, dropping the entire plane precipitously. If there's insufficient air below the plane down to the ground in that circumstance, unsurvivable contact with terrain is quite possible.

Nice spin, might even be possibly be true (if they even knew about this feature). But evades the truth of this statement that Southwest "replaced two malfunctioning AOA sensors" just in the three week period before the crash.

And yet, they did not crash, IOW, I'm not the one spinning things.

Frankly I am baffled by your comment. The article contains nothing about pilot incompetence, or taking off slowly, which makes no sense at all based on the combined experience of the pilots. A 737 is a 737 and experienced pilots have a feel for the type aircraft they are rated for.

What they don’t have a feel for is a system they do not know about commanding an attitude they may be completely unfamiliar with and then trying to relate that to their experience in a crisis moment or two or three, and hopefully winning the day. In this case unfortunately they didn’t win. Now it is up to the engineers to save the day.
