Thank you. Very kind of you to dig that out.
Yarddog wasn’t kidding. It was indeed good enough for the Royal Albert Hall.

No, but I have watched these British TV detective shows:
DCI Banks.. seasons 1-5
Grantchester 1-2
Endeavour 1-4
Inspector Lewis 1-7
Whitechapel 1-4
Scott & Bailey 1-5
I liked all of them.

Longmire was a great show. And the deputy was girl-next-door pretty, as opposed to the unrealistic fashion models you see on most cop shows.

Somewhere on the list should be Frank Cannon played by William Conrad. It ran for 5 seasons in the early 70s.
Conrad was not type cast as he was a very big fellow. If you're old enough or into radio dramas, he was the voice of Matt Dillon on the Gunsmoke radio show.
What about Dale Robertson as Detective Jim Hardy in "Tales of Wells Fargo" ???

I agreeSheriff Longmire, Vic, and The Ferg were GREAT detectives.
The sweet and often timid The Ferg was always a very good forensic technician; but by the end of the series he was also a BAD@SS with a shotgun, I loved how his character grew!

Frank Cannon was an interesting character. But the scenes where he’d physically push around someone bigger and younger...that didn’t ring quite true.
But maybe Conrad was just summoning his inner Marshal Dillon.

I’ll always remember Katee Sackhoff as Starbuck but on the Free Republic 24 live threads she was “Man Hands”
