So basically this is an Hispanic student who called a Black teacher the N word and got beaten down for this by the teacher. GOOD RESEARCH!
It took 21 posts before I finally saw someone who said what I was thinking. The kid deserved a slapping down, and my only regret from watching the video is that the teacher didn't lay any good shots on him.
The little F***er needed to be knocked out cold. I don't want to hear this "child abuse" bullsh*t. You get in a man's face and talk like that, you need a good @$$kicking.
Kid's father should have taught him better than to act like that.
The kid needed to get his mouth punched. The school should give the teacher a slap on the wrist and let him get back to work. I dare say his class will be better behaved.
I see the exact opposite. The Kid should be expelled, and the teacher should get a medal. The little sh*t badly needed his mouth punched in, and i'm just sad the teacher didn't punch his lights out.
Yes the teacher should have called for security, but that's assuming any was available. Security should have beat the little sh*t for mouthing at grown men like that, and they probably would have.

Pretty sad. I’ll be ok, but I feel for the intelligent generations that will be along after me. People who want to excel and prosper, now in a mix of those who just can’t function in an advanced culture. They will be overwhelmed by these types of humans. It does not bode good for the future of America.
I’m not “stuck on the word”. The teacher’s colleagues are the ones claiming that the use of the word somehow greenlights the teacher’s actions. There should not be different words or rules or laws in effect based on the presence of a word.

You are still talking about the "word" instead of the clearly combative attitude of the "student." So far as I'm concerned, anyone talking to a teacher like that needs his mouth punched.

The colleagues are wrong that the use of the word changes anything. If they want to argue that the teacher had other justifications for his actions, as you do, that's a different story, but that's not what the colleagues of the teacher are arguing.
He’s Hispanic. If you listen to his voice, it’s pretty clear the kid is Hispanic. I don’t know how anyone got the notion he was “black” except because he’s dark, but his verbiage and style of speaking is clearly Hispanic.
What’s “not right” is that their are too many moms, and not enough dads.

Once I saw the raw footage, I had a couple of thoughts:
What the student did was inexcusable.
What the teacher did was indefensible.
He was literally the adult in the room, and should never have hit the kid.
Did the kid "deserve" a beating?

A well-deserved ass-kicking, long overdue, but the teacher shouldn't have done it.

The professor should be charged for assault and arrested.
My guess is that he is a liberal that will use the ‘I was triggered’ excuse, as if personal responsibility no longer existed.
There's trouble brewing between blacks and Latinos, especially in California where illegal immigrants are pushing blacks out of areas, and MS-13 is taking over the drug trade from black gangs.
Democrats try to create a coalition of "People of Color", but I don't think it will work, long-term.
Even the most benign suburban schools are rampant with nonsense. What you think may be *safe*, isn't.
If you think you may have the calling, I suggest you go substitute teach in the school system in which you are interested in making a career. A long-term gig would be ideal.
That would give you an good inside look on how things run.
