In England they are afraid to say Moslems or Middle Easterners so they say "Asians" in their news reports when heinous crimes like this happen. As if it's roving bands of Chinese, Japanese or Vietnamese raping and killing there.

Syria, Lebanon and Jordan are part of Near East Asia. China, Japan Korea are part ofFar East Asia And Iran, Iraq, and Afghanistan are part of the Middle East Asia.

It is one thing for an American with a high school education to confuse these terms but for an journalist one assumes they had a class or two in world geology.
