If you've seen the movie, Brother Where Art Thou, you will remember this scene when her family sings, Keep On the Sunny Side

This is a bit later in another appearance on the Opry. Since this is listed as in 1961, Ricky was eitther 6 or 7 at the time dependeing on what time of year.

Ricky Skaggs hails from Lawrence County Kentucky.

As do I. I was born in the county seat of Louisa, but my parents moved to Columbus, Ohio when I was about a year old. Fortunately, they brought me along :)

My father used to say they taught the "4 R's" in eastern Kentucky, Readin', Ritin', Rithmatic, and Route 23, which took you to Columbus. Lot's of transplanted from Kentucky in Columbus.

Ricky, his sister and two brothers grew up next door to my grandparents outside of Blaine which is about 20 miles along State Route 32 and west of Louisa.
