This is becoming common. The solution is to take the customer’s picture and print it on the receipt.

I agree. I remember when I worked retail, we had to get a name and phone to put on a ticket (in case of a return), one guy was adamant he wasn’t giving his name, so my buddy just put on the ticket....Assh%^le. Yep, he had to return it and lost his copy, but fortunately we had one filed under the name we gave him!
