Star is Born. Anyone see it yet?

Hey folks, let’s get those ring removed out of our noses. Remember that their ultimate goal is our removal.

Stop feeding our would be executioners. Ours AND our children’s. They long to either convert them through often subtle propaganda, or have their necks under their gallows. The truth, not hyperbole. When will we ever learn?

The newest one just released includes the conversion and Billy Graham’s role. By the way he is played by Billy Graham’s grand son

Saw it last night. Cliche ridden downer. Don’t waste your time or money. Makes you want to see the original (not the second one with Streisand and kristorferrson), but with Judy Garland...

A little more about this movie. Don’t worry not giving the ending or much of the story, though it kinda follows the two previous versions. I will say, that it makes you want to go see the original with Judy Garland.

I really felt kinda let down with this movie. No doubt will be up for many awards, but won’t be best picture. No way, no how.

Lady Gaga, musical score, sound, (watched it at a nice theater with a great sound system that focuses the speech right at the actor’s mouth on screen.)

Obviously, like when Judy Garland did it and Barbara Streisand did it, it was to show case these singers at the top of their careers to open them up to a wider audience.

There are many people who don’t consider Lady Gaga a talented artist. They equate her with others who are here today gone tomorrow, like Miley Cyrus or even someone like Madonna who’s very talented also, but not as great a singer as Gaga. Gaga is gimmicky but she’s very talented, and like Streisand, you really see her in the beginning without make up to the point that you don’t recognize her.

Lady Gaga is a National Treasure. She is. IF you doubt me, buy her CD where she teams up with Tony Bennett.

I like the struggle in a story, the lean years more than the success, where the person or the couple are really down and out. I mean whether it’s the Grapes of Wrath or whatever, you love to see people make it against all odds.

Or the rags to riches theme like Pretty Woman, for one. Or how about, Diana Ross playing Billie Holiday? Or the movie Ray.

This movie rushes thru everything. Even the relationship. And it wastes time with stupid dialogue among the lesser characters, like Sam Elliot’s character, where you don’t know who he is or what he does...and what he says makes no sense. There’s a fight, and you don’t really know what it’s about, and they get back for a tribute to Roy Orbison concert that makes no sense on what he, Elliott, has to do with it.

The relationship of the two main characters is rushed and superficial. We go right into the power struggle to come, but with glimpses.

Would have liked to see Ally struggling more, rather than being an instant success. Instead a lot of wasted time with the father, (didn’t recognize that he was Andrew Dice Clay the comedian)…

Reminded me of the movie Return to Me, beautiful movie filmed in Chicago with David Duchovy and Minnie Driver, where you had all these grown men, I think Carrol O’ Conner and Robert Loggia, recognizing that the girl was destined to be discovered by Mr. Right.

And you have all these scenes and shots of Ally making it and getting on stage right out of the gate. Come on, Man. WE know, from the movie’s title, A Star is Born, that she’s going to be a star, but how about a little struggle at first.

Movie in the end really left me empty. I realize again that I watched a 2 hour promotion of Lady Gaga. Which I didn’t need because I already knew she was great. I’ll never watch it again, why would I? IT’s like the Titanic? Why would you want to watch that again when the ending is not uplifting?

The other subplot, is the idea of nurturing.

I find myself putting people I meet into two categories… Renters and owners. Those who take and those who nurture.

It’s really more fun to give, and to discover someone’s talent and see it flourish. That part of the story, everyone likes. In this movie, the nurturer ends up pity, and selfish, and self defeating, and a loser. No one is going to relate or even like this guy.

Anyway, the other best thing about the movie is you get to see the trailer for Clint’s new one coming out in December.

The Rose with Bett Midler was gritty and good.
