The Morning Floof wants me to be owned by him.
Good morning. I called my son yesterday and told him his birthday present was going to be late. Stamps.com wanted $30 for a 2# box (I’m sure it was in the dimensions) and I wasn’t willing to pay that. I found some Mylar padded mailers in a size that will allow for a little extra bubble wrap and will mail off his present as soon as they get here.
It would seem the search for things to make life easier actually makes life harder because of the search. Or something.
Anyway, I’m up and will give the bathroom about 10 minutes to warm up, then I’ll go take my shower.
Just about the time I was ready for bed yesterday, I heard what I thought was thunder and sure enough. For the next hour, we had thunder and LOTS of rain. I’m always grateful for the rain, because it is so necessary, but I’m so tired of the pain associated with it. *whine*
Good morning. We could use rain here, but not until after 8:00 p.m. tonight, because my friend is having her granddaughter’s birthday party at the park.
LOL! Good morning!
What???!!! I was talking about Bob the extremely slow walker from - er - YouTube. Yeah, that's it.
It's such a common name.
Happy Friday, all.
At least I’m not working 80 hours while doing the work of 2.
I can’t wait until this team learns how to do its job.
I understand from DP that it’s difficult being the only person who can be counted on to get anything done.
Hiya!
I’m back, after Gonzo’s Great Adventure. He was not an ideal patient, from the moment I tried to get him. It’s only at times like these that I regret not having a smaller cage for them to be in, as the flight cage only serves to make them harder to catch.
In my many parakeet rescue efforts, I’ve run into a couple of biters, and Gonzo is one of them. He did NOT want to let go, once he got my gloved hand. Had he bitten 1/8” to the right, he would have contacted bone, and I would have involuntarily let him go.
He had a clogged sinus, but when I got him home and back into the cage, I squirted them both, and the sinus cleared right up. The Vet says gonzo is healthy in all other aspects, and commented on his feather coverage and muscle tone and pronounced him good.
I got him home and tried to entice him to go out the open door of the travel cage through the open door of the flight cage, and he would have none of it. He slipped through a tiny opening and was loose in the living room. He finally gave up when he was between DVD crates. And no biting this time! He won’t have to go in for a while, but when he does, I want to try and make it for the same time as one of Beaker’s appointments.
Anyway, in about an hour, I’ll go to the library and return the movies I’ve watched and renew the ones I haven’t, and then I’ll be good to go! The rest of the day will be MINE!!
I’m glad Gonzo is doing okay. Maybe he’ll learn to like you better eventually.
We went to the library, too. Next, I have to go to Walmart.
Gonzo is not used to being handled and when one is that small, everything bigger is scary and intimidating. He’s made progress in that he is less flighty when I reach my hand in for the food bowl, but he may never have been caught except for his occasional escapes, until today. the Vet is really good with tiny critters. He told me Gonzo’s heartbeat was probably about 275 bpm because of the stress.
Since bringing him home and being back in with Beaker, he has calmed down a lot, which I figured would happen. He’ll never be “tame” but as long as he learns to trust me, I’m good. :o]
Walmart achieved. Now I will nap. I’ve offered the Youth, individually or in a group, $20 to clean the refrigerator. About $10/hr. Nobody’s taking it. If it doesn’t get done today, they’ll get it as an Uncompensated Household Task on Monday.
Thank you for riveted kitteh!
I have the same pillowcases.
It doesn't pay to annoy the Union Steward.
Um, wow.
Caller to a local talk show: "Some days it seems like every Tom, Dick, and Harry is named Bob."
I really admire your clever use of the carrot and the stick when it comes to the resident offspring. Kudos!!
And now, I’ll be taking my silly self to bed. The day hasn’t been stressful as such, but knowing that Gonzo was so traumatized by his Adventure is tugging at my heart. Poor little feathery thing.
Once again, it was sunny this morning and now, it’s clabbered up to look like more rain. Monsoons two months early. Not my idea of fun, for sure, but there it is.
So I’ll see all y’all tomorrow!
I hope you have a good night. I’m about to gather up the Yutes and go to a Mexican birthday party.
I didn’t make a sticky mess in the refrigerator.
Maybe you could offer to feed them whatever is growing in there on Monday if it's not cleaned out before?
