Well, that's a wrap, folks. Liberal Democrat Jeff Flake (who momentarily pretended he was a Republican six years ago), has decided to kill the confirmation.

Surely there’s a me too woman somewhere in Arizona who could accuse Flake of sexual misconduct.

Trump needs to stand firm and so does the Senate. If this bogus BS crap can derail someone like Kavanagah then the ONLY judge that will get confirmed are hard core leftists. No. Way. Destroy the woman who made these false charges. Tit for tat.

If President Trump and the Republicans play this properly it becomes huge motivator to get out the R vote in mid-terms.

Flake may find himself sitting on the sidelines next year...

It appears that Kavanaugh is largely liked by many, including, surprisingly, the “other side of the aisle.”

If this woman is responsible for his losing and she seems to be a “sensitive” person, remembering and having such a difficult time forgetting a 30 year ago incident, she will not recover from this. Unless she is more disingenuous when all is revealed.

Kavanaugh will still be confirmed.

The Roy Moore, Thomas etc ploy will not work this time.

Can McConnell pull his committee seat? Not that I believe McConnell has the guts to do so, but if Flake is going to play games, get him out of there.

I’m disgusted. The only bipartisanship occurs when Democrats are in power, nominate a liberal, and Republicans cooperate. I don’t see bipartisanship happening when the situation is reversed.

This would be a strategically wise time to declassify the FISA warrant.

Oh yes, delay her appearance before the committee and the vote until after mid-terms.

Gotta hand it to the dem’s (and Flake), they are smart, despicable, and ruthless SOB’s who are fighting like they have everything to lose - because they do.

This is a horrible ending to a wonderful weekend.

Have the Turtle bypass committee and bring the nominee to the floor for a vote. Period.

"Sen. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) tells me in an intv he that doesn’t think the Judiciary Cmte should move ahead with its Thursday vote on Kavanaugh until they hear more from Christine Blasey Ford. “For me, we can’t vote until we hear more."

When she declines to appear, Flake will suddenly vote "Yes".

This is standard grandstanding by Flakey. He won’t vote against K, but will stretch this out. So they call her in, hear from here, and badda bing, badda boom, still confirmed.

Instead of caving, why don't you use your editorial skills to compare and contrast the alleged Kavanaugh high school party prank with Texas' Beto O'Rourke's actual youthful DUI hit and run arrest, and later burglary arrest?

Use your skills to explain why Democrats are ignoring Ted Cruz's challenger's actual criminal past, while exploding unverifiable Kavanaugh 11th-hour allegations as if it were true.

Play the double-standard card. Scream it to high heaven! Shame Flake for staying silent on allowing someone like O'Rourke into the Senate he's quitting, while Flake's using his last months to block a supremely qualified man to become a Supreme Court Justice.

Congratulations to all those who supported Roy Moore and the stupid GOP Sec of State who could have delayed the Special Election. That Senate seat loss allowed the Dems to go from 9 to 10 members on the Senate Judiciary Committee, thus allow Jeff Flake to stop Kavanaugh.

I suspect Flake would love to poke this stick in Trump’s eye, for god knows what reason. But if McConnell persists and holds to the schedule he announced, with a full confirmation vote before November, Kavanaugh will be confirmed. We may lose the votes of idiot Murkowski, nitwit Collins and deranged Flake, but will pick up ‘rat votes from FL, MO, WV, and SD.
