Last month flew on a United Boeing 777 from Denver to Honolulu. Was like riding on a city bus for 7 hours.

Airplanes was when the no smoking movement began. They started by moving the smokers to the back of then plane then just kept going........
Kinda like when they decided to classify the AR-15 as an assault weapon....incrementalism.

Compare the foot room & seat spacing with today’s arrangement...you could bring an ottoman and set up shop in those seats.

I'm old enough to remember when cigarettes came with C-rations (in the military). I believe they came in 5-packs. I was always a non-smoker so I would trade my cigarettes for the chocolate bar or packet of instant coffee.
During my enlistment, the C-rats turned into MREs and the cigarettes were soon no more.
I always thought smoking cigarettes always made people look "more cool." The habit never took hold with me though.
