I prefer bratwurst simmered in beer then slapped on a hot grill for a quick finish. Mustard and sauteed onions on top with a fresh bun. They are so juicy you need a bib and safety glasses.

With all due respect to American tradition, I can’t stand Nathan dogs. I’d rather eat Oscar Meyer. Was in NYC on the weekend and actually had a good dog at Katz’, to go along with my pastrami on rye!

The best dogs in Canada were from a Toronto-based family business called Kwinter’s. Unfortunately they packed it in a few years ago after decades in the business, so all we have now are mass produced junk.

Looks like Chestnut wins the Mustard Belt after eating 74 hot dogs and buns. Unofficial record.

It appears as if they go down a bit easier with some water. Just an observation. You may want to see if you qualify for next year’s contest!

Wow. When I was deployed it seemed like every other day some section or detachment had a cookout with grilled brats. Could have lived on them but since Air Force was the majority we had absolutely the best messhall chow I have ever known.

With bratwurst the hotter the mustard the better.

I find that a Nathan's hotdog goes down best with a cold shocktop. 😀

True American hero Joey “Jaws” Chestnut is your Nathan’s Hot Dog
Eating Contest champion once again. As if there was ever a doubt.

The 34-year-old took home his third straight title — his 11th in
the last 12 years — on Wednesday afternoon in Coney Island. Chestnut
celebrated the Fourth of July by slamming a record-breaking 74 hot
dogs into his face and earning the $10,000 prize.

On the women’s side, American Miki Sudo took home her fifth
straight title in the competition by eating 37 hot dogs in 10 minutes.
