Before there were animal ethics boards, we took a biology course and dropped an iguana’s core temperature below freezing and then revived it. The experimental animals seemed to be ok with this - just a bit of frostbite on their stumpy tails.

When it comes to eating non-native species, I’m sticking with ring-necked pheasant.

Unless I get very hungry.

I prefer sautéed amphibian legs dipped in lemon butter.

5 oz @ $59.99/lb = $18.75 per can?

I’m thinking Popeyes.

Iguana, the new oyster replacement!

But at sixty dollars a pound, Viagra may cost less.

We raised our own animals and the last thing they knew was the taste of delicious sweet feed.

Dad always waited until they just about done and were still looking forward to the last bit left in the pan and then *bang*, instantly gone.

They were happy, obviously focused on eating and enjoying themselves right to the end.

This prick with the lizards has either no brains or no soul.

Several times, people in my reptile forums said they’d “put down” a snake or lizard by freezing and the community collectively ripped them a new one.

And rightly so.

If you gotta do it, just hit their head with a rock or brick.

No way is iguana pareve!

I do hope you didn’t pay too much for your ‘Chicken in a Tree’.

Methinks it is counterfeit.

Never had them that way, but it sounds good. Folks down here in the South have a tendency to fry them until they are really tough, but I like them if not too bad overdone.
