>>Perhaps it is time for the citizens of TAOS to pull a Kit Carson and guard the monument as Kit did the American Flag in the 1860s.<<
I was at Kit’s home last summer. Carson was small of stature but huge in terms of courage. Read his biography not long ago.
great man.
>>Not that Im in favor of a government solution, mind you. Other than keeping underage kids safe from such silliness.<<
Read a true crime story years ago about a snake-handling preacher who attempted to murder his wife by forcing her to stick her arm in a cage of rattlers. As I recall, she was bitten but managed to get to a state road and flagged down a motorist who took her to the hospital. Preacher went to the slammer.
>>Snake-handling, eh? Sounds positively shocking...I gotta see that.<<
Then you will need to travel to the backwoods of Tennessee, Kentucky, or West Virginia and look for a Pentecostal Holiness church. I believe snake-handling services are now unlawful in one or more of those States, but in remote areas “the Law” is a long way from the church.
>>They are nasty people, full of hate and they want everyone else to be as unhappy as they are.
Think about the gigantic leap of logic required to turn this monument into state establishment of religion. These people have a very perverted and sick way of seeing the world.<<
You have accurately described the kind of people who have nothing better to do then abuse the law to lord it over other people. The smelliest garbage out there for sure.
What’s next, sun-gazing in California?
To make an concerted effort to keep God out of government is having the government promote the religion of atheism. Atheism is the absence of God. When there is a blocking of God from a forum then you have atheism expressed.
