Starting world history in 1450 AD (not CE) is a fine way to produce more dumbasses at the local imbecile factory.
How does that class start? “Once upon a time, there were civilizations everywhere...”

with some historians fretting it will make the course too "Western-centric." The history of the world is largely the history of the West. What significant contributions did the continents of Africa or South America make? There are contributions in Asia, more in the middle east, but the bulk is in the West.
These professors are self-loathing fools, as usual.

In particular, 1871 - 1914.
At times, I think of that period as the pinnacle of human achievement.
At other times, I think of 1945-1968.

You got that right. The common era begins way later, unless they mean the Christianity is what made the world common. Plus, what’s way later is hardly common. Liars.

Sumerian writing was at least 600 years earlier than your 400 BC date. As were written records of Egypt.

Oh I cannot wait to annoy the next museum docent I see. They thought they pulled a fast one to use a non-Christian term to describe “something” that happened 2000 years ago. And now you went and rained on their parade. lol

The American Historical Association, meanwhile, sent a letter to the College Board earlier this month attacking the changes from the left, arguing that focusing only on recent history would make the course too Western-centric. Hmmmmm....quite the conundrum...

The College Board wants to remove over 8,000 of those years, and start the course in
1450 CE AD 1450, declares a petition seeking to prevent the change, which had already exceeded 11,000 signatures by press time.

So, 1450 CE (Christian Era / Current Era) - Nothing about Greco-Judeo-Roman history or culture. Nothing about the rise of Islam and the conflicts like the Crusades or Tours. Nothing about China prior to the Ming Dynasty or the Mongol Empire or Alexander or Timur (the Lame). Nothing about Egypt’s history or Meso-America pre Aztec or Inca.
Yeah, that will work just like ‘New’ Math! Leaves lots of room for the required inclusion of the people that the PC crowd want to include.

Poisonally, doc, i yam sikened by the CE and BCE crap. CE is Common error, which began when? With the death of CHRIST, sic. CE is AD. So let us not offend people like me who are traditionalists. Of course BCE is a Waste of ink & paper for the environmentalists. The E is an extra letter. Lets go back to BC and save a tree.

Correction. C.E. as with A.D. starts with the birth of Christ not His death.

Of course. The main purpose of that is to eliminate any knowledge of Jesus Christ or the later Roman Empire, which was very Christian. A secondary purpose is to emphasise Islam.
