Correct, this is not a "peer" request to avoid smelly foods, it's a demand for dhimmitude on the part of the non-Muslim kafirs.

Some enterprising kafir might have to the supermarket and get a jar of (Korean) kimchee, then dump it in a trash can at the library. Or all of the trash cans. If there's a liner in the trash can, remove it, put in the kimchee, then replace the liner. That should throw them off for a while. But do it late at night, since that will give the distinct garlic-laced fermented cabbage fumes a few hours to ripen and spread before the library opens in the morning.

Strange article. To me, “smelly” always meant “bad smelling”. Not something I’d want to eat.

I guess grated cheese might be an exception.
