If it were the Chinese, they would have already claimed SW Russia as part of their country based on this find... moved troops over, sent in squatters e.t.c.

Little doubt about the helmets origin. Quite a find.

Thanks, Sunken Civ! The
Corinthian Helmet is testimony that weaponry and
fine art have been partners since the earliest times! BTW, that
"General view":
"of the burial..." is quite interesting:
- There is one (recognizable) skull, four legs & two spinal columns. i.e Two individuals. (Female/homo companion?)
- The helmet is buried with the opening toward the grave wall. Significance? Keeping content in place? (See last point...
- Is that another corroding bronze object (helmet?) in that bowl at top center?
- The gravediggers/undertakers weren't too respectful/workmanlike. They didn't even dig a small hole to keep the amphora upright -- just leaned it against the grave wall & backfilled around it -- leaving it with its top barely below the ground surface...
- The "helmet" photo is flipped horizontallly. There is a vertebra and arm & hand bones between it and the grave corner.
- The vertebral column of the skeleton nearest the helmet is shortened, Almost makes one wonder if the skull is still inside the helmet...
Again, thanks for posting this!
