He actually got his CCW (even then it was ridiculously hard). Anyway, we took a trip to Southern California and stopped at a Denny’s to eat. Some thugs ended up taking a lead pipe to the windows while the whole restaurant crouched under tables trying to avoid flying shards of glass.
No one was hurt, but I’ll never forget my dad repeating all the way home, “that’s the last time I go anywhere without my gun.”
