Yes, he’s a top public school student - he’s learned the aggrieved-victim narrative very well and already knows how to wield it.
They really could really use some lessons in what most of us learned in Kindergarten - "sticks and stones may break my bones but words will never hurt me".
There is nothing to apologize for.
That was her opinion. Most opinions are still legal in America. She works on an opinion news show.
I hope she doesn’t crumble.
If this kid is so smart, he should be big enough to move on.
He is starting to make her look correct in labeling him as
‘Obnoxious’. My bet is it’s the mother who cannot handle having her methods criticized or seen objectively.
Kind of a shame that the kid can not have a conversation with Jackie Robinson, who had to deal with racist Democrats during his years in the Army (and that was before he challenged the racist Dems in baseball).
I want to see his test scores.
How is he taking a spot from someone else? I don’t get it.
Yes he applies to many colleges. He can only attend one. But these selective colleges have waiting lists. Once he decides, then space opens up and someone else will be offered admission.
Or is this more complicated than that?
> That was her opinion. Most opinions are still legal in America. <
Well said. But as we all know, the left is working hard to outlaw any opinion they disagree with. From a leftie’s point of view, the kid’s only mistake was not labeling the opinion as “hate speech”.
That would have really upped his chances of getting a full and complete apology.
“I apologize to the misled youth of this nation, including the Puppet King, for the democrats unscrupulous exploitation of their innocence to further advance their political power and greed in the ongoing war to destroy the culture and wealth of this great nation and its citizens.”
I wouldn’t apologize, not to an easily offended whiner.
I’d rub salt in his wounds instead.
I didn’t say I agreed with her opinion. I actually don’t, but it’s simply her take on this situation. This talk show host is not going to hurt that student in any way. He has the unquestioned support from 99.999% of the press.
Maybe the Talk Show host just wanted to play the Devil’s Advocate for a moment.
Bill O’Reilly used to do that all the time for the attention it brought him. He would drag the ‘controversy’ out for a few news cycles, then eventually make some neutral kind of statement putting the issue to rest.
Megyn Kelly was a pro at this too, until she got
Schlonged by the president.
Don’t trust anyone under 30. This snowflake generation is the worst, other than the ones who serve in the military. I’ve always thought there should be 2 years of mandatory military service, or other public service of one’s choice, before they go into college, i.e. advanced high school. These ungrateful, entitled twits are good at school and test taking, but clearly they know nothing about life. The world does not owe you an apology!
Whos Michael Brown and why should I care?
It’s his right to apply to that many colleges. However, he did apply “Early Action” to Stanford, meaning he formally told them Stanford was his first choice, and was accepted there with full financial aid on Dec.8 (NY Times article). Stanford’s EA program is not binding until May 1, i.e., he is still allowed to change his mind to another college. However, the longer he holds onto all those other offers the more he may foul up planning of other students (i.e., others may be choosing other offers or not getting financial aid while his offers are held open for him.
If you're angling for scholarships, it makes sense to apply to as many colleges as you can. There's nothing ridiculous about that.
But making where you got accepted public for the whole country is obnoxious. So is asking for an apology from somebody who is just expressing an opinion.
Good grief!
Info on Stanford “Early Action” program, under which he was accepted in December, according to the NY Times:

Honestly...where in the world is this country going to be in 10 years?
So apparently these two news anchors are so stupid that they either believe that these colleges offer one, and only one, full funded scholarship per year, or that if someone turns down their offer then they don't offer it to another deserving student. Kind of makes you wonder if news is really fake? Or it just sounds fake because it's filtered through morons like these two.
